A joint project by Green America & Global Exchange, Green Festival
seeks to promote and encourage people like you to adopt a
lifestyle,
which will aid in improving our environment. It aims to inspire people
to shun activities that harm our ecosystem. To serve the purpose, it
gathers leaders and visionaries, 125 renowned authors and organises
workshops, kid’s activities, offer organic beer & wine, vegan &
vegetarian cuisine with live music and films on go. It has a green
market place for shopping.
History
The first expo took place in 2002 at San Francisco. It featured 125
exhibitors, 50 speakers and special events. Today, it is the largest
sustainability expo in the world. It is a joint project by Green America
and global Exchange. Both are not-for-profit organisations, sincere in
their endeavors for social and environmental justice. Green Festival's
interactive marketplace and learning environment provides solutions to
make lives healthier.
Location and getting there
By car - You can drive your way from the Bay Bridge and Interstate
80, downtown San Francisco, Marin County and Highway 101 South, the
Peninsula and Highway 101. While coming and while leaving, take
eastbound, southbound or go To 280 South.
Bay area rapid transit (BART) - Exit at the Civic Centre station. Take
the six block walk down Eighth Street to Brannan, or the SF Muni 19 bus.
Bus: From Fisherman's Wharf, Russian Hill, Nob Hill, or Downtown, catch
the SF Muni 19. From the Marina, North Beach, Downtown, take the SF Muni
10(17th and DeHaro).
Bicycle - There are bike tracks from Market Street to the Concourse.
